Customers Enjoy Eating With Wildcats' Mascot

Wetherby Whaler customers in Wakefield enjoyed their fish and chips with a special guest when they were visited by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ mascot, Daddy Cool. 

The popular fish and chip restaurant in Wakefield welcomed the much-loved mascot who it is now sponsoring, to unveil his new Wetherby Whaler shirt. 

The Wetherby Whaler is a leading player in the popular fish and chip restaurant and take-away market in Yorkshire. In addition to Wakefield, it has restaurants and takeaways in York, Pudsey, Wetherby and Guiseley.

Janine Murphy, Co-Owner of The Wetherby Whaler, said: “At The Wetherby Whaler we believe that it is very important for us to support local initiatives and to put something back into the local community. 

“We’re avid rugby fans and many of our Wakefield staff support Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, so we’re thrilled to be supporting the club. It was fantastic to have Daddy Cool at the restaurant and members of the local community, especially lots of children who were enjoying the school holidays, had fun meeting the mascot. 

“We think Daddy Cool looks great in his new Wetherby Whaler shirt and we’re looking forward to seeing him wearing his new top on match days.”
