We at the Wetherby Whaler pride ourselves on the value and quality of our food and the produce we use. We source local produce where possible and work closely with trusted local suppliers to bring the highest quality to our customer’s plate.
We continue to work and support local suppliers to help maintain the high standards in which we set ourselves. The potatoes we use are always the highest quality available to us, we do not compromise on quality when it comes to our chips. Our delicious chips are freshly prepared and cut on sight at all five of our restaurants every day, ready to serve our customers with the finest chips in Yorkshire.
All our restaurants serve haddock. Our haddock is Icelandic caught and delivered to us on a daily basis to all our five restaurants. The haddock is then carefully and expertly cut and prepared in house by our dedicated fish cutters. No corners are cut when it comes to the quality of our fish. We go to great lengths to ensure that our haddock is fresh and tasty to maintain our high standards.
Our chefs and kitchen assistants at all our restaurants work hard to continue to produce the highest quality food for our customers to enjoy. We are continually working to introduce more homemade options to our menu. We have homemade soups and desserts that have been produced in our state of the art kitchens and all our recipes have been devised and perfected throughout our restaurants so you can enjoy them in which ever restaurant you choose to visit. Our famous mushy peas are lovingly prepared in each of our restaurants every day. Our customers also love our homemade tartar sauce to complement our delicious fish and chips.
Our fantastic loyal customers are always at the forefront of our plans. We are always looking for ways to meet and satisfy our customers varied needs. We understand that our customers have different dietary needs and see it as our duty to try and accommodate those needs into our menus to make sure all the family can enjoy the Wetherby Whaler experience.
We have incorporated a gluten free option to our menu to make sure that our customers who have this dietary requirement can still enjoy our fantastic food. At our Guiseley and Wakefield restaurants we have the capabilities to produce gluten free fish and chips for our customers. We have a new state of the art frying range recently fitted into our Wakefield restaurant which matches up to the size and capability of our vast Guiseley frying range. This gives us the facilities to produce a gluten free product for our customers. To accompany your meal, a gluten free option is available on our starters and our deserts menu, this includes our homemade gluten free sponge and custard.
We do have alternative options available at all our restaurants such as the vegetarian meals we provide. These meals are produced by a local restaurant to meet our specific needs. There is also the option of a variety of freshly prepared salads available for the lighter option.
For over 40 years it has been our privilege to serve Yorkshire with quality fish and chips. By maintaining our high standards and traditions we will continue to meet and surpass those standards.
