Wetherby Whaler Teacups and Toddlers Award

Wetherby Whaler honoured with family friendly award

Wetherby Whaler Guiseley has been honoured with an award for its family friendly service.

Teacups and Toddlers, a blog identifying positive eatery experiences for tots, has rated the Yorkshire restaurant 5* and presented it with a special award.

Teacups and Toddlers are ambassadors for Child Friendly Leeds, an initiative that has been embraced by businesses, organisations and schools across Leeds, and is trying to make Leeds and the surrounding area a better place for children and young people to live and grow up in.
The Kids Club, extensive children’s menu, free gift and the entertainment provided were listed as a few of the numerous reasons that the blog has promoted the fish and chip specialists.

Not only recommending Wetherby Whaler to kids, Teacups and Toddlers hailed their traditional ‘home comfort’ menu as well as its varied vegetarian and gluten free options for adults.

Phillip Murphy, who co-owns the Wetherby Whaler with his wife, Janine, said: “It is fantastic to have received this award from Teacups and Toddlers for our Guiseley restaurant. We are a family-run business and welcome all families to come and dine with us at the Wetherby Whaler. We understand it can be difficult to cater for little ones when eating out so we try our very best to make it the most enjoyable experience possible for all the family. I am extremely proud of all of our staff that make the restaurants such inviting and welcoming environments.”

Chérie, Teacups and Toddlers blogger, said: “Dining at the Wetherby Whaler in Guiseley with my young family was a fantastic experience. I understand how difficult it can be finding restaurants that cater for both children and adults, prompting me to set up my blog. The Wetherby Whaler could not have been more accommodating to us, both the service and food were faultless, I will definitely be returning in the future.”

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Deputy Leader of Leeds City Council and Executive Member for Children and Families said: “Child Friendly Leeds is proud to work with organisations like the Teacups and Toddlers, who are doing great work to bring our attention to fantastic child friendly places in Leeds. The Wetherby Whaler is doing a brilliant job to create positive dining experiences for all the family and this is really important. Dining out with little ones is not always easy and to find a welcoming restaurant gets a big ‘thumbs up’ from us.”
